Don't come back: Mayor tells agents after confrontation

MS NOW reports:

By Jason Henderson

“Evanston, Illinois, Mayor Daniel Biss reportedly confronted Border Patrol Chief Gregory Bovino during a Title 8 enforcement operation in Evanston after protesters gathered. Biss accused agents of violence and racism, while Bovino argued the operation was intended to make the city safer.

Biss said, “The abuse has not been acceptable, the racism has not been acceptable, the violence has not been acceptable.”

Biss added, “The only ‘violent mob’ in Evanston today was Greg Bovino and his masked thugs, terrorizing innocent people and then lying about our city to try and sow chaos. Evanston is safe in spite of ICE/CBP, not because of it. Don’t come back.”

Bovino rejected the allegations, noting agents have been in the city to make it safer. He further claimed the operation has targeted specific individuals under federal law.

Bovino said agents were in Evanston to “make his city a safer place through Title 8 immigration enforcement.”

Bovino claimed Biss has fallen “back into the divisive talking points that we’ve heard ad nauseam.””

My comments:

Three cheers for Mayor Daniel Bliss!

Evanston is a peaceful, upscale university town on the Near North suburbs of Chicago and home of Northwestern University (of which I am an alumni).

Bovino and his masked, violent thugs and goons are not needed and certainly not wanted there!
