When a dad has money, the whole family benefits. When a mom has money, the family might fall apart.

Same dollars, different hands, completely different outcome.
When a man has money, his first thought is "how can I make life easier for my wife and kids".
When a woman earns money, it often becomes her backup plan: if things go bad she can walk away.

Looking at this from a different angle, any woman who doesnt have her own money is stuck with a guy who abuses her, because she doesnt have the resources to leave. (particularly if there are kids in the picture.) My wife always had her nursing career and worked except though the child bearing and raising years and even then took some courses to upskill. Then went back into part time and later full time work. We not only had our own money. But our own separate bank accounts..With never an argument over who paid what..If you are working as a team, it really shouldnt be a problem..😷

Separate bank accounts? What does that tell you? A family is an organism, like the human body. Does the lungs have separate blood supply systems?

@sree251 I could equally say we have two kidneys. Maybe I was lucky. But trust was never an issue. We met at work and my money and her money were always our money. The house is in joint names. But we each had our own car. It was never necessary to change it..Now, my pension for life covers her too. So if I fall off the twig, it continues on with her for her life.😷

You have been played like a fiddle, and you like being played.
@whowasthatmaskedman same here…works well - we have never had any problems with separate money and bank accounts. It’s a team effort.

You sound like a pair of draft horses.
@sree251 parenthood feels like that sometimes. True.

@sree251 A pair of draft horses, move a heavier load much farther than two single steeds. Particularly when pulling in the same direction. So it was with us..😷

If it feel like that to the woman, then she has married a dud who is not fit to breed and should be neutered.
