So if Rob Reiner was killed because of his “TDS”…

Doesn’t that imply the murderer (the son) was MAGA?

The very definition of irony.

For the MAGA numbskulls, let me explain -

Trump blames “TDS” for the murder.
That means the murderer had right wing political motivations
And that validates that people have legitimate fears and concerns about Trump, and that it is not some made-up TDS in their heads.

Archie Bunker was the first known MAGA hat-wearer known to mankind.

@swirlie i thought it was the Devil himself?

@trollslayer
Don't you find it ironic that Rob Reiner worked alongside Archie Bunker, then produced a child of his own who was a clone of Archie Bunker in namesake?
JSul3 · 70-79
@swirlie I'll refute that. His son, like many in the country, are impacted by drug use that alters brain chemistry and causes personality changes and impairs rational decision making.

Show me where his son was anything close to a MAGA supporter.

Carrol O'Connor was a stout liberal who portrayed the bigoted Archie Bunker character.

...and your point is?

@swirlie So you know nothing about acting? I never liked the show because the characters were too simple. Carol playing the archetype conservative and Rob playing the archetype liberal. Both were too shallow to be taken seriously and yes I know what a LaSalle was.

@swirlie @swirlie

Key Aspects of O'Connor's Politics:

Strong Liberal: He was known as a principled liberal, supporting civil rights and labor unions.

Anti-War Stance: O'Connor was a vocal opponent of the Vietnam War.

Advocate for Social Issues: He used his role as Archie Bunker to confront issues like racism, sexism, and homosexuality, pushing boundaries for television.

Satirical Use of Archie Bunker: He believed the character allowed viewers to see the flaws in prejudice, making bigots human to expose their contradictions, rather than just making them objects of ridicule.

Mental Health Advocacy: Following his son's suicide, O'Connor became a strong voice for mental health and drug policy reform.

Early Political Tendencies: Even in college, he showed political engagement by protesting censorship of the school newspaper.

Contrast with Archie Bunker:
While Archie Bunker was a caricature of a conservative, bigoted blue-collar worker, O'Connor was educated, cultured, and progressive.

O'Connor fought with CBS to keep controversial dialogue, wanting to expose the hypocrisy and limitations of bigoted views through satire.

That's all BS. You have a very vivid imagination there, JSul3!

So you know nothing about acting?

..would you please state the relevance of that irrelevant comment?
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@swirlie You assumed that Carol O'Conner was conservative based on his lame acting on All in the Family.
JSul3 · 70-79
@swirlie You have no concept of facts.

No, I said that Carrol O'Conner portrayed the first known MAGA hat-wearer known to mankind, who was his character roll, Archie Bunker.
