Piracy in international waters by Americans.

United States seized an oil tanker off Venezuela's coast this week. The sheer scale of this operation was brought into sharp focus on Thursday with the dramatic seizure of the Skipper.

US Attorney General Pam Bondi released a 45-second video on X. The footage captures the high-stakes raid: two helicopters swoop down over the vessel in open water, deploying armed agents in camouflage who rappel onto the deck to seize control.

The operation, carried out by the FBI, Homeland Security and the Coast Guard with US military support is the first Venezuelan oil cargo seized since US sanctions were imposed in 2019.

It was seized because Venezuela was selling it's oil to Cuba which the USA has sanctions on. The USA has no say in what Venezuela does or doesn't do. Canada on the other hand, told the US government to go fukk themselves when the US tried to tell Canada that it couldn't buy stuff from Cuba, nor could Canadians travel to Cuba. Maduro will soon show the USA who's in charge of Venezuelan oil... and then watch what happens when Russia and China show up in support of Maduro!

Says who? It's about time that we (citizens of western democracies) realize that we are controlled by Big Brother. NATO may be dead but NORAD, a permanent defense agreement, is vital to US security. Just as Ukraine is Russia's buffer against the US, Canada is US's buffer against Russia. Any attempt to break the marriage will trigger a US takeover of Canada. Trump's insinuation of annexing Canada as the 51st state is no laughing matter.

NATO is dead, swirlie. Cold War of the boomer generation no longer has currency with zoomers (Gen Z) driving the conversation in American politics these days. This being said, Canada annexation will not be on the cards because conflict with Russia is out of fashion. We have more immediate concerns about at home.
