It is a fallacy that poor people do not have any access to Medical Care in America
We have something called Medicaid that most poor people can have access to.
It not only covers doctors and medical care it also covers optical and dental.
We have a Medicare program for older folks.
Otherwise, money is taken out of a workers paycheck in order to pay for private insurance, which pays for some copays on medicines and doctor's visits.
We don't have the long wait times that so many other countries have for emergency care like waiting 6 hours for an ambulance or 8 hours in the emergency room to be seen.
We can seek out a specialist as long as they take the insurance that we carry without doctor approval as long as we have an established medical condition.
That might possibly vary from state to state?
We do have a bit of a wait time for specialist, but it's usually only 2 to 3 months.

@ChipmunkErnie I know that I'm on Medicaid, now and that I've only paid $4.90 for a tremendous amount of healthcare

@Justmeraeagain Good -- the system is working for you. But millions of Americans don't qualify for Medicaid or Medicare and have to buy their own insurance or do without. Example, our son has to pay $50.00 co-pay every time he sees the heart specialist because he works two jobs and that's the best insurance he gets.

I do agree that private insurance is not very good

@Justmeraeagain All depends on what you can afford. If the GOP has it's way, prices will be rising soon.
