A small price to pay to make sure he doesn't make good on his threat of moving the Seattle portion of the games somewhere else.

@Northwest Yeah but it's craven. FiFA obsessed over the US market. It's why they had a club world cup there.

Part of it was a power grab. An attempt to rival the European Champions League and undermine UEFA.

And tea, it speaks generally of how pathetic a lot of organisations are in bending the knee to Trump. Sick up to him because we don't want to upset him. Bullies just come back for more

@Burnley123 It's all about the $s. I'm nit sure how the demand-based dynamic pricing is going to work, but that should be interesting, but I understand it works something like me getting into the restricted lanes, some days I get charged $0.75, other times it's $10+, depending on demand.

@Northwest So for a World Cup, it will be a few hundred dollars a ticket, minimum. FIFA and the beautiful game!

@Northwest I was more right than I knew.

@Burnley123 The first game in Seattle (USA vs Australia), the cheapest ticket is about $1,400, but you can also buy $2,750 tickets.

More drama: long ago, when Seattle realized it will be home to some of the games, and June 26, 2026 (Friday) is part of the Pride celebrations in Seattle, so the city is making the June 26th game part of the Seattle Pride celebration.

So, who got the June 26 slot in Seattle? Iran and Egypt. They're both raising hell, because, you know, there is no such thing as LBGTQ in Iran and Egypt.

Tickets for that match are now going for as low as $600. I wonder why.
