Why blow up the “drug boats” instead of track them to shore and arrest them there? You gain more intel from living people than dead people.

Is the hope that the extreme violence will be a deterrent? Honest question here…

They drop their cargo in the water to be picked up by smaller boats and taken to shore. I have witnessed this myself!

@fanuc2013 That is not a thing. None of those boats can A) carry enough cargo to be worth anything and B) don't have the range to get anywhere near the US.

And even the DEA says the drugs are not coming from Venezuela.

@fanuc2013 For further context. Venezuela to Florida is 1400 miles. Boast like this cannot travel that far. For boats that small that is unrealistic as trying to go from Sydney, Australia to Orlando in those small craft.
