Why blow up the “drug boats” instead of track them to shore and arrest them there? You gain more intel from living people than dead people.

Is the hope that the extreme violence will be a deterrent? Honest question here…

I take the most cynical position on this based on what I’m seeing.

They do it because they can. They are all “what is the point of power if you don’t use it” people. There’s no greater plan. It makes them feel big and strong that they can order the deaths of people.

They’re inhuman monsters.

I think in my mind I would call that a goal instead of a plan. In that he will just do whatever moves him towards that goal without worrying about consequences. That’s what I meant.

They’re not thinking about next week, only right now. That’s what I meant.
