63,000,000 Million Americans Have Now Personally Experienced Trump and His Party's Cold Contempt for Their Wellbeing.

MAGAs are celebrating what they consider a victory for their party. And they did force the Democrats to capitulate, an outcome that wasn't unexpected. Their victory however does come with a huge caveat: increased public awareness.

Sixty three millions Americans and their families have experienced first hand that their health and wellbeing are not a priority for the "Republicans" and their boss. The needy families enrolled in the SNAP program are spread throughout every state in the country. The people who rely on Obamacare and will watch their premiums skyrocket are concentrated more heavily in red states. These people will certainly remember this in November of next year. These actions are going to further solidify the perception that trump the right are only interested in pandering to the wealthiest among us and have no interest in those less fortunate. The off year elections appear more certain to be a harbinger of thing to come.

I feel like you are far too optimistic about the chances of widespread dissent among the poor and rural Republican voter base.
Given everything that they already knew about the crooked nature of the man, the overt ways he's flaunted the law and the lengths he's gone through to enrich himself, all as those voters continually have changed their talking points in order to defend him and the party in all circumstances, I feel it's highly unlikely they'll cash in their hatred and bias to vote Blue in 2026.

If there's even an election, that is???

@HikingMan All of the won't. Many will.

@MoveAlong One would like to think that when a person is presented with new facts that they'd be capable of changing their opinions and outlooks. Unfortunately, despite repeated chances and a multitude of obvious instances to do just that, the Maga Cult has simply switched talking points and continued to defend him and the terrible policies that have already begun to hurt them.

The good news is that all of the Democrat voters who fell victim to the apathy and feelings of helplessness will show up in droves. Independents will flock to the left. True Conservatives will find it hard to justify a Red vote to themselves.

But once again, the entire election will fall to the small handful of States known to us as Swing States.
Anyone serious about reclaiming control of the Federal government, they should think of donating to Democratic causes and organizations in those states.

Again, all of this is predicated on the possibility of the US actually holding the midterms, and not having Trumple declare a State of National Emergency and seizing power and violently cracking down upon dissent.

@HikingMan The independent voters who usually figure in prominently in swing states seem to have lost their affinity for trump and his misguided and his minions.
@MoveAlong I am seeing more former MAGAs turning on him all the time. His delusional lies are so obvious that many are starting to see the light.

The worse thing that could happen, though, was the Democrats caving on the shutdown without. Firm agreement.

@HikingMan

One point you definitely made "if there is an election!"

Trump's last term some Republicans left the party. And maybe just maybe since Trump's tactics are directly affecting many Republicans who voted for him in a negative manner they may change or just not vote. The things they knew about Trump and didn't care, tossed to the side, didn't affect them, on a direct and personal level.

@HikingMan If you like crooked then you must love Joe, Barry and Bill.

@HikingMan trump's health is getting worse. IF he passes before the scheduled election MAGA will fall apart. Who knows how those voters will decide.

@MoveAlong The previous reply from @Gibbon is my case in point...

His cultlike behavior, ignorance of reality, and his personal insults, go to show the general mindset of The Trump Cultists. They don't care if Trumple lies or if he steals wealth through corruption by selling United States power and influence. As long as it's okay for him to act aggressive and mean spirited to whomever he wants and have that behavior be considered acceptable.

Anyways, my original point stands. It's a mental overreach to assume these people will cross party lines no matter what Trumple does or has been proven to do.
MoveAlong · 70-79, M
@HikingMan I wish I had said that. 👍
MoveAlong · 70-79, M
@Gibbon Not everyone always supports party lines. For God's sake even MTG has broken ranks with MAGAts recently.

@MoveAlong There's more to the right than where your focus is. Like not being sheep lead by nose rings like the left.
MoveAlong · 70-79, M
@Gibbon Well there are a few in the middle right but they still vote with trump.
Gibbon · 70-79, M
@MoveAlong Did it occur to you they are voting their political beliefs and adamantly against the left.
MoveAlong · 70-79, M
@Gibbon Of course.
