@faery Like all fascist "strongmen," Trump is obsessed with portraying strength. The fact that this scene occurred probably really annoying him because it makes him and his team look weak.
@BohoBabe His lifelong affliction with narcissism drives that obsession and all his actual weaknesses, as true stoicism has an element of humanity that he truly lacks. Humanity revolts him the way he revolts humanity.
@faery Yeah, I wouldn't say he's stoic, because he's miserable. He lacks healthy human relationships. It's like that with a lot of billionaires. They think at some point they'll have enough money that they'll finally be happy, but that's not where happiness comes from.

I feel like, to him, it's just a long game of chess he's playing in his twilight years to keep himself rich, famous and free of incarceration for as long as possible.

I guess if there IS a downside to being a billionaire, it is the fact that there isn't anything else to hope for or look forward to.
@MoveAlong Trump's scowl - he has always had that kind of expression. I remember even back in the 80's when he showed up in the media, he just always had this look like he was, well, the trump the world has always known and h4ted.
