Zionists don’t fail to make me laugh with their stupidity
A lot of Zionists make the point that because the Palestinians speak Arabic theyr colonisers
And because Israelis speak Hebrew they are indigenous.
Which is one of the most hilarious statements I have encountered.
The people who we today call the citizens of Israel only began speaking Hebrew about a hundred years ago, when it was revived by a man named Eliezer Yitzhak Perlman from Belarus. ( Does that mean they weren’t indigenous to the land before then ?🤣 )
Before this revival, Jews with no exception spoke the languages of the regions where they lived Arabic, Yiddish (a Germanic language), Persian, Polish, Russian, and others.
Today, around 80% of Israeli citizens are people whose families came from all over the world and settled in historic Mandate Palestine within the past century. Because of that they needed a common language to communicate because they all spoke different languages so they were taught modern Hebrew which had just been revived .
The Palestinians, on the other hand, viewed these newcomers as people arriving from abroad and living in refugee camps, while they themselves were the locals of the land they also already had a shared language — Arabic — which they had been speaking continuously for over 1,400 years, which also allowed them to communicate with neighboring regions such as Egypt, Iraq , and Arabia etc . For this reason, they felt no need to learn a new and on top of that just revived and still being cooked language.
It is rather ironic to claim that merely speaking Hebrew makes one “indigenous” to the land, since the land has spoken many languages both before Hebrew existed and after it ceased to be a living tongue. Even Jesus did not speak Hebrew in daily life, because by his time Hebrew had already declined as a spoken language. People during his era primarily spoke Aramaic and Greek, and later Arabic became dominant following the Arab conquest replacing Greek and Aramaic .
In fact, Palestinians’ use of Arabic actually reinforces their indigeneity it shows that they were there during Arab conquest.
In summary,
Hebrew had ceased to be spoken for roughly 1,700–1,800 years (well before the Arab conquest of Jerusalem) and was only revived by a Belarusian linguist less than a century ago.
So speaking Hebrew today doesn’t automatically make someone “indigenous “ to the land
In reality most just went there from abroad learned the revived language and made the ridiculous claim.
No wonder why most Zionists are Americans
Americans are known to be Uneducated about history and geography lol
