@jackjjackson Trump can't stop the shutdown. Only congress can do that. Trump can release SNAP vouchers. Take a civics course.

@jackjjackson The SNAP program is administered by the USDA through state agencies and they have already distributed some of the vouchers with no involvement from FEMA. Even if it were FEMA distributing the vouchers that is the domain of the Executive Branch.

Again, the President cannot stop the shut down. If you think he can please tell me how. The President can order the release of SNAP funds.

He seems to think he has the authority to issue or withhold snap funds. The President was holding up the funds. That's why I said he can release the funds.

Your misunderstanding irregardless of what you read.
Trump is referring to the fact that the democrats will only open the government if "pork" items are included (items NOT approved by congress right now). You might not believe that its the democrats fault but thats what the president & others believe.

@pdockal I along with a helluva lot of other people don't consider healthcare subsidies to be pork. I do think the Rs have had ample opportunity to explain where they stand on making healthcare more affordable. Obamacare came about pretty much because the Rs didn't have an alternative even in 2010.

Without subsidies, premiums would significantly increase
Medicare & medicade were already in place
They just had to increase who is eligible instead they created a monster

So again the costs are being paid by the rest of us while my coverage is going down & costing more due to ACA

I work hard for everything i have and am tired of my taxes going up & up & up
Yes they're are always other programs that aren't necessary but that has nothing to do with this thread

@pdockal Big Beautiful Bill could have answered your concerns and set your taxes wherever they deemed fit and evidently did. What you pay now is 100% on the Rs. It passed without any Democrat support. Your side failed you.
