US PRESIDENT WEAPONIZES FOOD FOR POOR AGAINST POLITICAL ENEMIES

Washington November 7, 2025

In a new low President Donald Trump is withholding food from the elderly, handicapped and at least 14 million children for the misguided notion that it will in some way punish his political enemies. It should be noted that the money for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program vouchers has already been appropriated by Congress for emergency use and a Federal Judge has ordered the President to make payments to recipients immediately.

IMO that's how headlines for news outlets around the world should read. Any true American and any person with a sense of decency should condemn this action by a cruel and uncaring tyrant.

Those who support him agree with him and Make it a point to blame the Democrats. The world is watching and from what I read the US is probably the only country that has government shutdowns and it is characterized that the US has poor government

The president has no control over the shutdown
Only congress does

Those in Congress especially those these days does what Trump tells them to do. trump is against what the Democrats are for, especially Obama care and he hates the name and the person Obama. Outwardly he may tell them to wind it up but secretly he's saying put the pressure on.

And tell me what person in Congress does differently than what Trump commands? What person on his administration? They learned from 2016 Trump will fire or make it very difficult for those who go against him

What's the point ?
I don't know anybody who likes afordabke caee act especially since health care cost have gone up for most people & coverage has gone down
The president always tries to influence congress (they all do)

One side wants to pass the current budget items
The other side wants to renegotiate/ force trillion dollars back before they will reopen

Who's right
Who's wrong

@pdockal 24.3 million people in 2025 used the Affordable Care act and have resigned for it that is a lot of people. You may not know anybody who uses it but

Force trillions? Naturally you would say that. So just go on and let the Republican president spend billions to a trillion on his self, on countries he cares about throughout his term and he has a couple of more years to go hopefully he will step down and not try to change the Constitution as he so indicated.

Most presidents stayed out of it - Trump controls his Republicans.

Some see the truth / others deny the truth. Debates are not going to change the truth / protest is not going to enforce the truth.

Thanks for the conversation goodbye to go on further is pointless.

Sounds like your delusional especially if you think prior presidents don't try to influence congress

ACA spending around $2.5 trillion by 2026. The ACA's costs are funded through a combination of new taxes

the individual health insurance marketplace established by the ACA, underlying premiums have increased significantly over time

Individuals who do not qualify for subsidies, particularly those with higher incomes or in certain age brackets, can face high, unsubsidized premiums, often paying the full sticker price

All employer plans offering dependent coverage must allow employees' children to stay on their parents' plan until they turn 26, regardless of whether they are married, living with their parents, or financially dependent.

I can see how triggered you've become
Focusing on trump trying to confuse the issue

As for firing workers Biden fired ALL those working on the pipeline but NOBODY cares ... why .... because the hatred for Trump is ALL they focus on regardless of the topic

Biden's frequent travel to Delaware during his presidency also incurred significant security expenses for taxpayers

Presidential travel costs are not unique to recent presidents. Government watchdog reports have examined travel expenses for administrations including Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, finding significant costs associated with both domestic and international trips.

Barack Obamas personal trips over eight years were reported to cost taxpayers tens of millions of dollars.

George W. Bush spent a total of 879 vacation days during his presidency, many at his Texas ranch or family home in Maine. Rough estimates for just the Air Force One flights to his Crawford, Texas ranch amounted to about $124.7 million. His total travel costs over eight years were estimated at $140 million.

I probably could go on & on

ACA is so expensive that if people didn't get subsidies they couldn't afford it

The cost of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) to taxpayers varies, but specific provisions like the enhanced premium tax credits are a significant expense. For instance, a proposed permanent extension of these credits was estimated to cost taxpayers $383 billion over 10 years, increasing the budget deficit by $335 billion, according to the Congressional Budget Office (CBO)

This is only part of the cost of the ACA

Medicade & Medicare already existed so they only had to change who was eligible for it and NOT create the ACA monster

I'm paying taxes so others can use ACA so it's not an option to just not use it
I've worked very hard to get my medical coverage which costs MORE due to ACA & my converge has gone down because of it

U.S. Presidents absolutely try to influence Congress as a central part of their job, using both formal constitutional powers and informal methods of persuasion. The U.S. system of checks and balances requires interaction and negotiation between the executive and legislative branches to pass legislation and govern effectively.

Presidents employ a variety of strategies to persuade members of Congress and advance their legislative agenda:

Of course i don't know you and my comments are based on your posts
Delusional not because you disagree with me but because you don't understand how the president functions and insist Trump is the ONLY president trying to influence congress
Maybe take a civics class or something that will teach you the President's job etc
