Being democrat or republican doesn't make you a bad or good person

If you really think about it, there are good Democrats and good Republicans, just like how being religious or atheist doesn’t automatically make someone good or bad. My views are kind of a mix; I’ve met great and not-so-great people from both sides. It’s the same with religion too.

At the end of the day, it’s not about labels or sides, it’s about character. Whether in faith, politics, or work, what really matters is how someone treats others and whether they do their job with integrity.

I guess I’m just venting a bit, but sometimes it feels like people forget that.

both of these would probably be considered "good" people as both of them had strong character etc...

I'm kinda torn. You're right, I've known some Republicans that even if they grow up in a different time period they are respectful. My cousin is Trans and i have a few Republicans in the family that accepted it even though they made comments at first about it. Generally though, they've called my cousin by their preferred gender.

But also my family is emotionally healthy in a good way. The problem with conservatism is that outside of my family, I've never met a republican who isn't anti gay, say stuff about minorities, label everything as socialism or communism and wants to gaslight people who have tattoos or are of different religions.

More often than not I find it's true. I've given people fair chances and it always ends up that way.
