Reagan's Rhetoric on The War on Poverty was errant and in stark contrast with reality.

2.0 Followed by infinite 0s plus 2.0 followed by infinite zeros isn't five, and he said the following, which is a bit like arguing it's five rather than 4.

"Some number of years ago The government declared a war on Poverty, and Poverty won."

Bullshit, it did not win.

The Data shows the War on Poverty Reduced Poverty by 30 percent, it simply failed to completely eliminate it, eventually progress slowed.

So it did a world of good and continues to do so, but of course, reality has shown that some forms of it are quite entrenched and that quite a bit more would be needed to break that entrenchment.
