I'm not pleased (not that it's my country), yet I'm almost glad.
Not because I'm overly fond of him (to say the least - and to the extent I could find myself agreeing with the current US administration it's still led by an unhinged loon who has Liberace's ghost as an interior decorator married to a 7th-rate post-processing nude model with a taste in tasteless minimalism, but this kind of monstrous action is actually - in an ideal world - instructive.
Compared to both the natural world, and God's plans (take your pick which one you want to focus on, it works either way), the designs of man are in the long term completely pointless. Nature will outlast us (no matter how much industrialist greed tries to ruin it for profit), as will the designs of the Almighty (however conceived).
It's an ugly design and an even more ugly action but we live in ugly times - not all of which are of the making of people like Trump.
Think of it like a skull in a renaissance painting. The ballroom is a momento mori.
