franklin roosevelt...POTUS from march 1933 until death in april 1945...sounds more like a kingship to me.

That was 90 years ago. FDR may have tried to consolidate Executive power and expand Presidential power, but he was blocked Congress and checked by courts.

These are the two issues that differentiate today from 90 years ago.
