@Vin53 Production and consumption are irrelevant. The US has no ability to refine the majority of what it produces so it is all exported.

The oil the US can refine comes basically from 2 places, Canada and Venezuela.

@Vin53 Again. Doesn't matter. None of the refineries in the US can refine the oil produced domestically. To do so would require retooling every refinery in the US and cost billions if not trillions for a dying industry.

So this is absolutely about stealing Venezuelan oil. Hell just like in Syria Trump has even bragged about it.

And if the US takes Venezuela they can dictate the price.
