Why do people think that Muslim countries have not take Syrian refugees?

They have. The five biggest havens for the Syrian War are all Arabic nations. Lebanon has increased its population by about a third whereas rich first world countries moan about taking thousands. Some Muslim countries could do more; such as Saudi Arabia, which is the West's greatest ally in the region. This is a humanitarian crisis and for me people are people irrespective of skin colour or religion.

I think an even bigger issue, at least here in the U.S., is a seeming lack of understanding about the differences between a refugee and an immigrant.

That is true. There also seem to attempts by some politicians to deliberately confuse the terms.
