Is gender a set of preference you have?

A woman is a social construct that we have agreed upon.There is a difference between the idea "woman" and a biological female.
Simply put, you are not the body and the body is not you. You are a social construct, a psychological entity while your body is a physical organism.
Gender is a matter of choice. Is that too difficult for you to understand? If it is, then you are not capable of going to college.

Gender used to mean sex: male or female. Now it means almost anything, rendering it worthless.
@AnnaWasHere Not everyone buys into all that ..

@AnnaWasHere @BrandNewMan It means your role in society. And I know not everyone buys into that, just like not everyone buys into the Earth being round. It still is whether people buy into it or not.
@Theyitis Like the earth being flat .. 70 some genders .. is false.

@BrandNewMan Nope, you’re confusing gender with biological sex because you don’t want gender to exist. Gender is your role in society, so there’s no limit to the possible number of genders.

@BrandNewMan Sigh, being on my phone, I’m unable to copy and paste your link; however, I have the Dictionary.com app on my phone. It defines gender as, “The male or female division of a species, especially as differentiated by social and cultural roles and behavior.” (emphasis mine). Also of note, the second given definition, “A similar category of human beings that is outside the male/female binary classification.” I feel that those two definitions completely validate everything I’ve been saying in this comment thread.

@AnnaWasHere

The word gender was coined in the 1950s, not that long ago by John Money.

Some said he was bisexual other said he was homosexual and participated in group sex. So that would explain if it's true why he was overzealous concerning homosexuality.

@Theyitis I don't accept this new definition as it was literally made up by the woke movement to fit their social agendas .. and is not aligned to actual long settled science. The definition I sent is aligned to the reality of the science.

Writing lies down, doesn't make them true.

@Charity The term gender first appeared around 1300. It was then snatched and corrupted in1955 to explain deviance from norms.
Theyitis · 36-40, M
@BrandNewMan That’s because gender is not a scientific term. Science has nothing to say about gender. Sex is within the domain of science, not gender.
@Theyitis Save it .. we will never agree on this
