Is rage baiting a sin?

Is the act of intentionally saying things that give people negative emotions, and spark negative reactions a bad thing to do in the eyes of the lord?

Intentional provocation, sowing discord?

The man has been exposed as someone whose ideology was dictated by financial gain. One could argue that is also a sin. I know at least Dante was not fond of charlatans.
