That's why Trump imposed tariffs. Trump's objective is to have other countries pay-off America's National Debt through the use of tariffs that are then charged to those foreign countries who use American store shelves to sell their products.
The only thing is, it isn't those foreign countries who pay the tariff charge, it is the American consumer who pays those tariffs. This is because the tariff is built into the price of the foreign-made product that sits on American store shelves which the American consumer purchases.
That is why everything has suddenly become SO expensive to buy in the USA.
