The Coming Trump Tariff Bailout

By The Editorial Board
Oct. 5, 2025 4:20 pm ET

You knew it was coming. As President Trump’s tariffs damage farmers and businesses across the U.S., the victims are besieging the Administration for relief. The long lines at the Commerce and Agriculture departments are the latest proof of self-destructive tariff folly.

Due to a MAGA imbecile, who insists on complaining to the admins about me posting from the WSJ, you will need to look this up yourself.

Trump is going to push a $10B bailout. Youmay recall his first term's farmers bailout.

After his last term, soy farmers, maybe others, lost more than a year or two of business because of tariffs. Even though they recieved welfare, a large percentage of their exports were permanently lost.
After this time, returning export customers will also lessen their orders.
They get along fine without us.
And btw...small farms will again be forced out. Large farming conglomerates will absorb them. Again.
These morons voted for their own destruction. For what? I know the answer is too ugly to want to admit. So...they wont.
A good chunk of the piece is quoted here:

To rub more salt in the farmers' wounds, tRump gave a $20 billion bailout to Argentina's faltering economy, and Argentina immediately turned around and started selling $billions worth of soybeans to China!!

MAGA is creating a welfare state.

I thought that was abhorrent to Right wing fiscal ideology.

@MoveAlong Agreed - this is something other than right wing...

Ten Billion wont scratch the surface of what is needed.. And this time truckers, storage facilities, ports and cargo vessels are all hit harder..😷
So he costs us up front and now forever by adding to the debt...
MoveAlong · 70-79, M
@SomeMichGuy Oh no not at all. He told us he's taken in $17,000,000,000,000.00 and counting. I guess it's stashed at Mar a Lago though. Nobody else seems to know anything about it.
@MoveAlong Well, he can't let just ANYone know...like with EVERYTHING else! lol
Can you say welfare

@Briggett Socialism.

Don't forget Northwest, this has nothing to do with MAGA nor the Republicans because neither exist in principle anymore.

Yes, the Republican Party technically exists but the MAGA movement has been de-identifying itself with Trump for quite some time now because of what Trump is doing, which is NOT what MAGA bills itself as being about ...and certainly not what the old traditional center-right leaning Republican Party is about.

That's why Trump will go down in flames, not because of the Dems, but because of the withdrawal of support from MAGA and the Republican Party as the US economy slowly grinds to a halt and once again becomes identified globally as an Isolationist, Protectionist Nation just like America was in the 1930's.

@swirlie I'm not so sure.
Project 2025 clearly shows the aim is to deconstruct the federal govt and turn it into a White Christian Nationalist State.
swirlie · 31-35
@Northwest
That is correct.

@JSul3
But the creation of Project 2025 had absolutely nothing to do with MAGA! That's my point! MAGA has been cast to the wind by Trump and Trump is now operating on his own after re-branding the Republican Party and then recently becoming separated (but not divorced) from MAGA which was the re-branded Republican Party.

Project 2025 is Trump's Advisor's brainchild, it isn't even Trump's idea ..and it certainly has nothing to do with the MAGA agenda.
