Who is on human rights committee? China
@Patriot96 No wonder it's no longer safe to live in your country.

@wishforthenight only unsafe areas are democratic owned cities
@Patriot96 Indeed, because that's where the crackdowns by ICE are happening. That's where innocent people are being snatched off the streets.

And this is why

Assault on Civic Freedoms

Power consolidation: Under Trump, executive power grows while dissent is criminalized.

Targeting marginalized groups: Continued attacks on social justice advocates and immigrant communities.

Political Violence

Surge in politically motivated attacks, like the tragic shooting of House Rep. Melissa Hortman and State Senator John Hoffman.

Political violence against lawmakers has nearly tripled in 5 years.

Crackdown on Protests

Thousands of arrests for peaceful protests against ICE tactics in cities like LA, NY, and Austin.

Military intervention: Deployment of 700 Marines and 2,000 National Guard in LA to quell protests.

Journalists Under Attack

Reporters covering protests, like Lauren Tomasi, targeted with rubber bullets and arrests.

Freedom of the press under threat, with attacks on journalists rising.

Press Freedom Eroding

Funding cuts: Congress slashed USD 1.1B from PBS, NPR, and local stations.

Judicial harassment and cuts to independent media are rising concerns.

Restricting Civil Society

State laws in Florida, Nebraska, and Arkansas limit nonprofit operations, especially targeting foreign influence.

Nonprofit funding: New tax laws could cut USD 81 billion over the next decade, harming underserved communities.

Criminalizing Solidarity Movements

Increased persecution of activists supporting Palestinian rights, like Mahmoud Khalil and Francesca Albanese.

Prosecution of international voices exposing human rights violations in Palestine.
@Patriot96 Did you read my post? I doubt it.

@wishforthenight you ,inda missed those peacefully protests that burned, looted and destroed Portland and other cities. You kinda forgot Charlie Kirk assassination, two attempts on Trump and the maggot who shot the CEO of United Healthcare. There are plenty more
@Patriot96 I'm not talking about any of that. I'm talking about the fact that, for the first time in its history, the USA is having its human rights actively eroded. And the fault is Trump's and Trump's alone. You must be very proud, as I said.

It's a long list and in the last few years includes many nations that would surprise people.

Nations such as United States (added this year), Italy, Yugoslavia, France, United Kingdom, Finland, Germany, Netherlands, Serbia, Greece and Canada.

Still, the U.S. being added to the list should concern us, and for many it does, but it doesn't for those who caused it.

Who watches the watchers?
Makes sense, but definitely horrific.

And you collectively allowed it to happen...
I think in all honesty is time for you guys to actually look at some of your political systems work an open eye
@Convivial I agree. And I'm not American.
Convivial · 26-30, F
@wishforthenight me either...I think for too long the propaganda has taken the place of clear thinking

From those who don’t know their a$$ from a hole in the ground
@specman Or from a respected human rights watch group that include all your favourite countries on their list, such as Afghanistan, Pakistan, Russia, China, North Korea, Venezuela, Saudi Arabia, etc.

Yet for the first time EVER, in its 250 year history, the USA is now on their list too.

You must be very proud of your president.
