Eventually technology will be so advanced, that even digital ID will be moot.
It may seem like science fiction, yet our very DNA can identify each and every one of us. All it would take is some kind of distance reader of DNA.

Many countries have digital and physical IDs since decades ago. If you think your privacy and rights are protected by not having it you are completely delusional.
