I am hoping some will have deep reflections over this. My bet is that there is a Jan 6th connection here, too.
Generally speaking, those who hate Mormons this much to resort to violence are either Christian Nationalists or rabid evangelicals that don’t consider the LDS as christian, or members/former members who disagree with the church (Mark Hofmann).
Seems in this case there is a fair amount of bigotry at play. And I notice many in the MAGAsphere are bigots and Christian Nationalists, and likey don’t see the LDS as MAGA enough.

@Jackaloftheazuresand i agree with the misuse of data. I don’t know the source, whether this is USA only, or how “left” and “right” are used here.
My comment suggests that the misuse of data illustrated by you is probably irrelevant, because whether you talk about murder or violence in general the story is probably the same and has been for the last 35 years. It would he illogical to assume that there is no correlation between violence and murder.

@trollslayer Without numbers though it's really just a gut feeling. I don't know why one might assume there is some kind of general proportional relationship to other forms either.

@Jackaloftheazuresand two scenarios for these data assuming both the left and right commit the same amount of violence overall:
1) the ratio of murder to violence is proportionally high for the right. In other words, they commit the same amount of violence but more of that violence is murder.
2) the ratio of murder to violence is proportionally low for the left. In other words, the left commits the same amount of violence but they murder at a lower rate.
The data presented here show 6 times more murder from the right. I have a hard time believing that the amount of violence is the same, but for the right the violence is 6 times more likely to result in murder.
