There could be many things but all I know is that person has personal issues. I'm not trying to be mean, I know she was your friend and you're mourning who she was but when I talk to maga you get a sense that something is off in their life and they seek to gain something. So your ex friend must have felt that whether their reasoning is logical or not.

I can only give my opinion but people who are genuinely attracted to maga and they stay that way very long term, at this point it's a personality issue. True npd is said to be very rare but it's my personal issue that more people are that they just don't get diagnosed and then they are attracted to extremes.

Look at Trump with his flip flopping on issues before he settled on the conservative communities. But he had those issues when he discriminated against black people back in early 90s or so. But he also went back and forth a lot between political parties but still managed to exploit no matter what.

Trump almost cert has npd by the way he talks and I wouldn't doubt that the people flip back and fourth have some form too. You just may not notice if they're a friend but you'd really have to be around someone a lot to know.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Yeah I get what you mean and I wish I had answers for that. That's just so strange how that can happen. But you should know this is the usual path for maga for some reason. That's why they say it operates like a cult and your ex friend would have to be deprogrammed in order for them not to be maga anymore. I liken it to Jonestown without the village but if they did have their own town, since maga males keep getting it for child ..... stuff in the news, it would operate like a cult as well put cult member's children in danger. Then eventually kool aide drink that ends with a long dirt nap.

I remember reading that there's others this has happened to where they had a whole personality flop. There's threads dedicated to those who lost a loved one to maga. We're talking about dads, moms, younger teens.

I would have to find those threads but entire personality flops were a common theme

But they'll manage to convince you that they care about animals but then also do animal abuse

I thought about it some more and I think part of it is also liberals who see politics as just a collection of vibes based identity politics and performative takes on social media are more susceptible to jumping from trend to trend because it is basically all cosplay anyway. And as horrible as this sounds it is true. She is a pretty white woman so there will never be consequences for her bad politics that will ever fall on her. Other people will suffer for her new bad politics but it will never impact her directly beyond being the definition of damaged goods to the far right.
