@JimboSaturn exactly. When I was a kid in the 70s and 80s, kids were the same, they just had different (often derogatory) names for autism and adhd.
Then: your child is shy
Now: your child is autistic
Then: your child is r3tarded
Now: your child is autistic
Then: your child is gifted
Now: your child is autistic
Then: your child is hyper
Now: your child has ADHD
Then: your child is a picky eater
Now: your child is autistic
And when an autism diagnosis come with free services - parents, doctors, and schools jump on it.
