It's an umbrella term for a bunch of usually college campus groups that counter-protest fascist orgs like proud boys or patriot prayer.
Some are pretty big like in Portland but uh most aren't. Like you can just go "hey let's get some people on the street for when the proud boys go intimidate an immigrant neighbourhood" and you've invented a local antifascist org.
It's not a single entity. It's just a buzzword for something the left has been doing since fascism first began. The Nazi SA cut its teeth getting into street fights with communists.
