Finding Groovy Again in a Mix-Up Modern World!

I’ve been thinking a lot about the state of the world lately. About division, about outrage, about how everyone seems to be shouting past each other. The spark for this reflection, strangely enough, came after Charlie Kirk’s death. Now, I didn’t agree with him, but the tragedy made me realize something: we’re living in a society that’s fractured, and entertainment—yes, the shows and media we consume—is part of why.

Now, don’t get me wrong. I know there are lots of factors at play here, but if we want a healthier society, we have to start somewhere. And I think entertainment is a good place. It shapes minds. It teaches empathy, imagination, and creativity—or, if done poorly, cynicism, division, and fear.

That’s where my idea comes in. I want to create a show. I don’t have the name yet, though I’m brewing some possibilities. I’ve been experimenting with visuals, thinking about style, and letting ideas flow. The inspiration comes partly from my grandparents—they showed me all kinds of things when I was young: H.R. Puffinstuff, The Monkees, and other wonderfully weird, groovy shows that were strange, playful, and full of heart. That’s the vibe I want to capture.

What if I could take that kind of energy and craft something new for kids—something that’s fun, spooky, weird, groovy, and beautiful, but also kind? The show wouldn’t be political. It wouldn’t lecture. It would simply celebrate goodness, empathy, and the joy of curiosity. Think Mr. Rogers on acid, if you want a shorthand, but with its own twist: a little psychedelic, a little spooky, a little out there, but always rooted in positivity.

I hope this project can grow into more than a show. Maybe it can be a small movement—a reminder that media doesn’t have to be divisive. That entertainment can inspire kindness, creativity, and connection, even in a world that feels like it’s split at the seams.

I don’t know exactly how it will all turn out, but that’s part of the fun. The important thing is to try, to make something that’s full of heart and grooviness, and to share it with others who are looking for a little magic in a mix-up modern world.

I hope it comes out nice. And I hope you enjoy it.
