Stricter Gun Laws

Now That Charlie kirk was shot, can we maybe now get the republicans to finally agree on stricter gun laws? Do you guys think the republicans will maybe now be more open for such discussions?

Maybe we should start by getting rid of all the violent video games that kids now have access too.
@Adrift that would just not change anything, except making teenagers more angry and more violent.

@Adrift

The games aren't the issue ... where are the parents ?

@pdockal Good question.
I just had this discussion with my son and I had to say that I know that we didn’t have these types of problems back when I was growing up.
We did have a rifle team and range on school.
I also had parents that held me accountable at home for the stuff I did at school.
@pdockal finally someone who realises the real problem.
@Firewarrior Well actually it is a real problem . . even if it doesn't fit your agenda. How about we deal in facts instead of your weekly liberal newsletter talking points?

There are some real effects. Maybe if you educated yourself a bit instead of just parroting ..

@BrandNewMan the first link is about depression not aggression and violence, the second link is very old and done too small and for a very schort time, while link three even says itself that there is no proven effect to long term aggresiveness and Violence through video games.

@BrandNewMan it is statistically proven to be effective , of course not everyone would follow those laws, like with any law, but such cases would be fewer, and it would be harder to get these certain weapons. You could also then charge these peoplefor that. If a law is not useful just because thrre are people who do not follow it, then why do we have laws? If your argument would becorrect, that would mean that If we legalised murder tommorow there would be no more killings than today. Are you an anarchist?
@Firewarrior No its not effective .. look at Chicago. Among the strictest guns laws in the country and among the highest gun crime rates. Pull your head out. There are already laws allowing people illegally in possession to be charged .. liberal prosecutors in places like Chicago are not prosecuting an awful lot of criminals, letting them back on the streets on limited or no bail, etc.

Nothing supports your claims
@BrandNewMan look at other countries, there you will see that they are more effective. This oftentimes has many reason, but gun laws are always one of the main ones.
