Ch-Iraq needs it though.
@3Dogmatic Remember when you guys used to tout "small government"??

3Dogmatic · 46-50, M
@ElwoodBlues remember when there was common human decency and the criminals would actually stay in jail? Guess who’s letting them out? I will have you a hint, it’s the ones screaming about the national guard…
@3Dogmatic So you have no comment about "small government;" just a whataboutism claim. I'm sure you've got evidence to support this claim, so why not share the evidence and the numbers?
3Dogmatic · 46-50, M
@ElwoodBlues small government and turning a blind eye to crime are two completely different topics. However, if you want to turn that gaslight on, the city of Chicago has one of the most bloated governments and restrictive gun laws in the US, and look where it has gotten them. Your meme is pretty weak. I’m all about small government. The government should provide protection for its citizens and protect the constitutional rights of the nation. THATS ALL.

As measured how? I'd love to see evidence that that's more than just a rhetorical flourish!

restrictive gun laws
Gary Indiana is a one hour bus ride from Chicago, meaning any gang-banger can head down there with their fake ID and buy a few handguns.

The government should provide protection for its citizens and protect the constitutional rights of the nation. THATS ALL.
Funny how "the government" isn't choosing to go to any red states, isn't it??
3Dogmatic · 46-50, M
@ElwoodBlues a simple search of Cook (crook) county politicians will answer your question about Chicago.

And why is Gary Indiana not overrun with crime? Maybe because criminals and gang bangers would find too much resistance? Chicago is a hen house and the criminals are wolves.

The feds are in red states. They are rounding up illegal criminals. I know this because I see it in Houston.
@3Dogmatic So you can't substantiat your claim about "one of the most bloated governments;" Good to know.

The feds are in red states.
If so, they're not doing much about the murder rates in red states, are they?

per capita gun deaths by state red vs blue

@ElwoodBlues I LOVE this argument! You trot out a State statistic, yet you will not drill down to the cities in these states and what the government is for the cities where the crime numbers come from. Let me give you the Cliff’s Notes answer. They are deep blue cities that are soft on criminals. Catch and release for felons is the norm. Please go look and prove me wrong. I live in Texas, we are a red state, and I offer you an invitation to come down and I will give you a guided tour of Houston (deep blue) and show you what failure looks like up close and personal.
@3Dogmatic STATES make gun laws. Cities don't have legislatures to write laws. Gun laws are made at the state level, and cities are stuck with them. Sorry, I didn't realize I needed to point out where gun laws are made.
3Dogmatic · 46-50, M
@ElwoodBlues nice try to spin it. The cities that have the crime problems are run by democrats and have for decades. That is where the problems are. Drill down to find the root cause. It’s not the tool, it is the user.

Drill down to find the root cause. It’s not the tool, it is the user.

Odd isn't it, how the dangerous users live primarily in red states.

Odd, isn't it, how the dangerous users hardly show up in nations with strict gun laws.

It's not spin, it's a fact that STATES make gun laws. Cities don't have legislatures to write laws.
3Dogmatic · 46-50, M
@ElwoodBlues tell me you don’t understand the US without telling me you don’t understand the US. Local elections have FAR more immediate effects than state and national elections. Mayors that are soft on crime bring in police chiefs that are soft on crime and DA’s that grant bonds to violent offenders, and you get what happened to the poor girl from the Ukraine who was killed by a fellow who was released 12 times for violent crimes.
@3Dogmatic nice try to spin it.

Remind us, what governmental bodies make the gun laws???
3Dogmatic · 46-50, M
@ElwoodBlues what government bodies enforce them?
@3Dogmatic Where gun laws are lax, possession & carry are legal so there's not much to enforce. After the killing starts it's too late to worry about possession.

I've shown you the numbers above. States and cities with lax gun laws tend to have FAR higher murder rates. What about Chicago? It's a one hour bus ride from Gary IN where gun laws are lax.
