Entitled people think that people are entitled.

I saw a video taken from someone driving their car and pointing the camera at what I believe were Palestinian refugees, mostly women and children. The guy recording was ranting about how everybody else is at work and these women just get to stay at a hotel with their kids for free.

The comment section was worse. Nothing but people saying things like, "Our ancestors didn't fight for people with no ethnic ties to us!!!"

Nothing about policy or logistics, just ethnicity and money. Painting these poor refugees as "entitled." They are not. Those who see innocent people displaced by war, living temporarily in a hotel, and their first reaction is jealousy are entitled. They are missing something from their heart.

Have you ever seen true devastation? I don't mean someone who lost their job or went through a breakup. I mean someone who looked into the eyes of death, who has watched their home and family destroyed by forces far beyond their control—governments, bombs, armies—while the world just moves on.

Those people deserve everything given to them. I wish that my country would help them out in such a way—instead we just give more weapons to their oppressors.

I would give up every material thing in my life if it meant just one of those women or children didn't have to face that.

So calm down. This is partially what tax dollars are for: to help someone in a crisis. If you live your life with the mentality of, "I work hard everyday and so should everyone else", ask yourself: what is your hard work for, if not to make the world better? Do you only want the world to improve for you?

Even people who work hard can find themselves down and out. People need to have more empathy for those who are struggling and who’ve been through something traumatic. Just because someone needs help (especially if they’re a refugee whose home has been bombed and they have nowhere else to go right now) it doesn’t mean they’re lazy and they don’t want to work.

Most people claim they’re compassionate but when their compassion is really put to the test, some people suddenly are lacking. Especially if those people are seen as foreign or different. On some level they likely think those people somehow deserve what’s been happening to them.
@WestonT "They've never strived for better and now they want something from us" kind of BS.

If your heart can only stretch as far as your paycheck, then maybe it’s time to ask yourself why you’re even working so hard. Life isn’t meant to be hoarded. It’s meant to be shared.

The comment section was worse.

Where do you find these people? 🤯

I do feel that some Americans are out of touch, but never in all my years on the internet, have I ever come across a person like that.

I mean EP, SW, YouYube, Reddit, never. A whole comment section of people like that sounds like a fairy tale from hell. 😅

@Nightwings Facebook is actually the worst.. If you look at news pages, and their comment section about any of these things, you'd be surprised 🥹 Insta and tiktok can be bad too, but not as bad as facebook in my experience^^

@Cassieeee FB has news now? When I was young my friend circle only used it to upload pictures and tag me in the worst ones. 😆

@Nightwings You can look up different news papers (they post their news on their page)🥹 Ugh, I feel that 😂
