I’m not super political or super woke

I do believe in diversity initiatives and think inclusivity is a positive change for organizations and businesses but nothing too extreme. I am an independent minded middle of the road kind of person when it comes to sociopolitical issues although in some cases more left leaning to redress some of the modern day inequalities that still persist despite progress being made. I don’t think change should be brought about by use of force but through meaningful listening and persuasion. I have gotten progressive and libertarian on political tests. For example I went to eat at chick fila last night despite its history of being against same sex marriage ( it stopped funding anti lgbtqia organizations in 2019) donating to Salvation Army and Christian athletes association. And chick fila is trying to be more inclusive and progressive currently. But did the Salvation Army and Christian athletes association actually discriminate against lgbtqia individuals and treat them poorly? There was a case in New York which alleged a Salvation Army rehab center refused help to a transgender individual. I don’t know. It was Robert’s idea to go to chick fila Robert my friend is not woke I think he is just. Neutral though he never told me who he voted for last election. I suspect he has would like a third party to be candidates but I wonder if he voted for Donald trump or Kamala Harris? Either way he is. Still my good friend Robert . To be honest I suspect he has slightly republican leanings somewhere in the middle of the spectrum. I think that’s why he. Wouldn’t tell me. Who he voted for. Oh well he still treats me well and has not been the least discriminatory or bigoted. He is at least nominally Christian that much I know. Most people don’t care about major issues when all they want is a. Chicken sandwich or something. I think overall a lot of people. Are somewhere in the middle on most issues or maybe just unconcerned/nuetral. I don’t think most people are extreme conservatives or extreme liberals. And in a pluralistic society we have to learn to get along with people we disagree with. You don’t have to be best friends and sing kumbayah but civility is important. Anyway that’s my two sense.

Nothing too wrong with DEI, sweetie...providing the best person gets the job.

I struggle with the term 'woke' sometimes.....yes, it can - and should - be used in a sensitive and fair way. That, I think most people can agree on that.

However, taking a tissue company to task as they advertise 'Man Sized' is just, not only stupid, but a waste of resources! Likewise the Yorkie bar tagline which was '..It's not for girls..'

It's fun! It's silly! Let's get over ourselves in that respect.

Respectfully, from a T-Girl,

😘
