Wait – I was supposed to be tipping my PLUMBER all along? (Trump releases list of “no tax on tips” qualifying jobs)

Photo above - Europe claims they don't have tipping like America. Don't believe it . . . they are LIARS . . .

I am soooo out of touch with modern life. President Trump released his list of jobs which qualify for the “no tax on tips” IRS rule change. The usual suspects are here: waitstaff, bartenders, blackjack dealers, cab drivers, hairstylists. But then I read on . . . there are literally HUNDREDS of jobs.

Here are some examples: Plumbers; electricians; air conditioning techs and installers; “shoe and leather workers”; Brazilian waxing specialists; escorts (I would have guessed that already); rickshaw drivers . . .

Really? RICKSHAW drivers? What American city would that be in? San Francisco? Probably not . . . too hilly. And probably not Phoenix or Nome, Alaska either. If you have rickshaws in your city, please reply with a photo.

To anticipate your next question: no, I am NOT about to start tipping my plumber. I’m pretty sure he makes more than I do. And when he’s not on the clock for “Ortega Plumbing” the guy who cleared my drains operates his own side business using his boss’s truck and equipment. I am not tipping someone with two incomes making twice what I do. Not even if he threw in a complimentary Brazilian wax job.

If you haven’t guessed already, this list people who now exclude tips from their income tax is principally an election scheme. Both parties are fighting for our consideration at the voting booth. By not requiring voter ID, excluding tips, and putting tariffs on car parts made in Zimbabwe. We are clearly NOT supposed to basing our votes on irrelevant things like the $37 trillion national debt, housing affordability, crappy schools, or the fentanyl crisis.

Just so you know, I’m an event planned and my job IS on the list. So if anyone WAS to lose their mind and tip me, I could legally hide that part of my income. That’s never happened of course. Mostly well lubricated clients just try to hit on me at an event I’ve organized for my employer. Maybe I’m missing out here. Should I walk around with a tip jar near the open bar, and let people make up their own minds?

About the only jobs NOT on the tax-free tipping list: Senators, house members, and presidents. If I have to slip them a Benjamin to get my problem heard, will THAT C-note be exempt from their own income tax?

I’m just askin’ . . .

Which jobs are covered by Trump’s ‘no tax on tips’ policy?

@FreddieUK well, people DO give cash to presidents and senators when they have meetings.

Pushed the wrong button too soon.

You’re right. Corruption is rife and it’s very sad.
