The 21st Century Red State Murder Crisis

https://www.thirdway.org/report/the-21st-century-red-state-murder-crisis

Takeaways:

The red state murder rate was 33% higher than the blue state murder rate in both 2021 and 2022.

2022 was the 23rd consecutive year that murder plagued Trump-voting states at far higher levels than Biden-voting states.

8 out of the 10 states with the highest murder rates in 2022 voted for Donald Trump in both 2016 and 2020.

From 2000 to 2022, the average red state murder rate was 24% higher than the average blue state murder rate.

Red states like Mississippi, Louisiana, and Alabama are America’s murder capitals and have had the highest three murder rates for 15 of the last 23 years.

The excuse that sky high red state murder rates are because of their blue cities is without merit. Even after removing the county with the largest city from red states, and not from blue states, red state murder rates were still 20% higher in 2021 and 16% higher in 2022.

Gun deaths don't correlate perfectly with murders, but it's a strong correlation. And I just happen to have this handy graph of the per capita gun deaths by state red vs blue. Clearly it underscores the OP's point.

@ElwoodBlues I had a person, one of our usual maga suspects on another forum of mine saying that Trump needed to send the military in because blue states are a hotbed of criminal activity so I found this article about red states.

But thanks for the graph, this deserves to stay at the top of the page.
@SatanBurger Thanks for BC!!

Interesting related note: if you're just interested in living your full life span, murders and gun deaths aren't your biggest concern.

Here's a little secret about living in rural areas: the motor vehicle death rate is far higher than urban areas. Drunk driving, winding roads, foul weather, and just the overall time spent in a car.

It's kinda shocking to compare automotive death rates with murders. Automobiles make rural areas FAR more dangerous than urban areas!

@ElwoodBlues Isn't it weird how maga is strangely silent? I had that tex girl on my last forum talking about how all blue cities need the force of big gubmint as they are the highest crime but strangely crickets.

Funny how that works
@SatanBurger Many of the most vociferous trumpsters have blocked me. It seems they don't like to be inundated with facts!! That tex chick blocked me after I teased her with this "sciece" photo:

@ElwoodBlues I'm surprised she hasn't me yet, tons have blocked me but sunsporter has multiple accounts they been contacting me after he blocked me lol. So there's not that many maga on here, it's like 8 or 9ish people with 3 accounts each.

@ElwoodBlues but yeah almost every single maga profile has me blocked too lol
@SatanBurger sunstroke and raisin10 are among the few MAGA who haven't blocked me.

@ElwoodBlues raisin10 hasn't blocked me but they don't comment as much towards me.
