Do u believe that Donald Trump's presidency is a failure ?

Here we are mid year through the 2nd term of Mr Trumps presidency.
The MAGA crowd is freaking out now. They are complaining about high taxes, food prices, gas prices, rent, jobs, and social security.
How ironic. Now I admit, it is still too early to tell how these uh tariffs will help stimulate this US economy.
Perhaps things will be much better a year from now. We shall see hopefully. But as of right now, where are we SW.
You tell me from your perspective how are things looking up right now.

I agree with these gentlemen from tRump's first cabinet who were surprisingly unified about his unfitness for office.

Richard Spencer, Secretary of the Navy
“The president has very little understanding of what it means to be in the military, to fight ethically or to be governed by a uniform set of rules and practices.” — Nov. 27, 2019

H.R. McMaster,White House national security adviser
“President Trump and other officials have repeatedly compromised our principles in pursuit of partisan advantage and personal gain.” — Jan. 7, 2021

James Mattis, Secretary of Defense
“Donald Trump is the first president in my lifetime who does not try to unite the American people — does not even pretend to try. Instead, he tries to divide us. We are witnessing the consequences of three years of this deliberate effort. We are witnessing the consequences of three years without mature leadership. We can unite without him, drawing on the strengths inherent in our civil society.” — June 3, 2020

Mark Esper, Secretary of Defense
“I have a lot of concerns about Donald Trump. I have said that he’s a threat to democracy. I think the last year, certainly the last few months of Donald Trump’s presidency, will look like the first few months of the next one if that were to occur.” — Oct. 1, 2023

John Kelly, White House chief of staff from July 28, 2017, to Jan 2, 2019, and secretary of Homeland Security from Jan. 20, 2017, to July 31, 2017. He is a retired four-star Marine Corps general who was hired to bring order to the White House.
“A person who admires autocrats and murderous dictators. A person that has nothing but contempt for our democratic institutions, our Constitution and the rule of law.” — Oct. 2, 2023

Rex Tillerson, Secretary of State
“M0ron” — July 20, 2017

William Barr, Attorney general
“The fact of the matter is he is a consummate narcissist and he constantly engages in reckless conduct that puts his political followers at risk and the conservative and Republican agenda at risk. … He will always put his own interest and gratifying his own ego ahead of everything else, including the country’s interest. There’s no question about it. … He’s like a 9-year-old, a defiant 9-year-old kid, who’s always pushing the glass toward the edge of the table defying his parents to stop him from doing it.” — June 18, 2023

John Bolton, White House national security adviser
“By the time I left the White House, I was convinced he was not fit to be president. … I think it is a danger for the United States if he gets a second term.” — June 22, 2023

Mike Pompeo, Secretary of State
“We need more seriousness, less noise, and leaders who are looking forward, not staring in the rearview mirror claiming victimhood.” — Nov. 15, 2022
@AthrillatheHunt says
his first term was okay till Covid
"Okay," like B-/C+ is accurate. Despite all his rhetoric and his budget busting tax cuts, all he managed to do was continue on the path set by Obama. Here's the evidence.

Here's ten years of job creation data. Ignore the drop of 22 million jobs when the pandemic started and concentrate on how job creation changed starting in Dec 2017 when Trump introduced his trillion dollar tax cut.

Do you see a "Trump miracle"? Do you see any change in jobs? Do you see any difference whatsoever between job creation rates under Obama and Trump? I surely don't.

Here's monthly rate of job growth in thousands; it's effectively the derivative of the above; it would show any changes in rate of job growth if changes had occurred. See any "Trump miracle"? Me neither!

It’s hard to judge in the moment . Looking back his first term was okay till Covid . I can’t speak on this term till 2028.

He’s using his throne to circumvent the law. He’s not even there to appease his constituency.

@Zonuss @BrandNewMan Oddly, I’m trying to skip being overly specific so as to not instigate the Trump fans.

Biden was a sad case. He was as close to a puppet as could be imagined. I’m not a fan of the Kamala coup attempt either.

If I was to point to just a couple examples, ICE and the lack of due process, I find criminal. There’s also the abuse of executive order(s).

I also, again personally, think he’s a megalomaniac and is declining rapidly into his own state of dementia.

Further, I have significant issue with the party attempting to bring religious values into law. I’m anti religion, so the separation of Church and State is important to me. The last thing I want is a MAGA messiah.

I could go on more specifically, but I’d rather not spend my day in this thread.
@Adogslife Dont get me wrong, I have my hesitations about Trump as a person .. but honestly .. when millions were allowed into the country outside our established legal process, with the clear intent to funnel them to locations where inclusion in census counts would increase blue state congressional seats to sway future elections .. less than full "due process" for people here illegally is perfectly fine w me to reverse that issue.

Our country was in part founded on religious freedom of choice .. what religious values contradict basic decency /moral values for you? You put the stuff out there .. so stop with the "don't want to get into it bit" .. you clearly do
Adogslife · 61-69, M
@BrandNewMan I think people accept some religions more than others. I think they all suppress women’s rights. I, again personally, believe in a woman’s right to choice. The more religion weaves its way into law/government, the more equality women lose.

Would you accept religion in government if the “ruling” majority was Islam or the institution of Sharia Law? We not only have the right “of” religion, but we have the “from” as well. There’s a reason.

To your point about “open” borders, it’s hard not to agree in most instances. I’d probably relax the intent of immigration for industries like agriculture where migrant workers are critical.

But, the fact that one side swung WAY too far left doesn’t mean that a reactionary swing to the far right is ever the appropriate corrective measure.

Absolute failure. He has removed democracy from the Republic completely on the federal level. And plans to the same on the state level.

We have a dictator now.
@DeWayfarer

Enforcing the rule of law in major cities isnt removing democracy.

Removing millions allowed to enter the country illegally isnt removing democracy.

Shutting down or cutting back wasteful govt agencies isnt removing democracy.

Now there's the lie with another psych trick.

The only breaking of the law is by TRUMP himself! He is a convicted FELON on 34 counts!

Republicans STAND FOR REPUBLICS BTW!

NOT Democracy! As in democrats. You hate democracy by supporting Trump.

Be weary of the red coats. They try to red to blue
Absolutely. Just like the rest of his life.

A year gone, the US will be totally isolated from 98% of all other countries.

My country alone has negotiated 6.4 Billion dollar of trade with other countries in the last 6 months.

The tariff will kill all import trade.

There will be NO competition, you will only be able to buy US made.
No Tourist, No mail, no freight...................no country will buy US products

America will kill itself

@AthrillatheHunt So we are going to play word games now?

Those two can be easily added to the tech billionaire "dumb luck" category changing nothing.
