12 days without a homicide. Statistically speaking, these are 12 Black lives that are still walking the earth due to this policy.

@SumKindaMunster here is how england took care of the problem.. a bit strict i think .. however
Following the 1996 Dunblane massacre, the UK implemented a near-total ban on handguns in 1997, leading to a significant decrease in gun deaths, reaching historically low levels by 2008/09. While a complete elimination of gun crime was not achieved, and other forms of violence like knife crime remain issues, the country has maintained one of the lowest gun crime rates globally, with no mass shootings since the Dunblane incident. The ban included a gun buy-back program and was followed by a strict firearms licensing system
NO MASS SHOOTINGS.. cant say that about the usa .. can ya

@markinkansas Hm yes, now they have mass stabbings. And now they are trying to get rid of those weapons as well. Where does it end?
You know what stops a madman with a knife?
A person with a gun trained to use it.

@SumKindaMunster the US has 5x the homicide rate of the UK.
Statistically, that's 17,904 Americans dead every year thanks to the national gun fetish vs if it had the UK's laws and homicide rate.

@DealingWithTrouble The US also has 5x the population of the UK.
The United States has a population of approximately 340 million people, while the United Kingdom has about 68 million people, making the U.S. population roughly five times larger than that of the UK

@SumKindaMunster you don't understand how "rates" work do you?
That's "per capita", meaning "divided by overall population" - the UK has 1/5th the US murder rate by population.
The US has about 5 murders per 100,000 population, the UK has about 1 murder per 100,000 population.
Now, show me that you can be mature and say "thank you" for someone bothering to give you a basic education on how statistics work for international comparisons.

@DealingWithTrouble I understood your stat. While I didn't know the exact number, I'm quite aware the murder rate in the US is higher than the UK.
And really if we are being pedantic, it's closer to 4x, not 5x.
But I let that go...
Doesn't this stat lend to supporting Trump's action though? Assuming the murder rate is SO MUCH higher here in the lawless US?

@SumKindaMunster now that is rich... do ya think the proud boys or other white power groups will give up there guns.. i think not. Many far-right groups, including the Proud Boys, use fearmongering and conspiracy theories in an attempt to stop any reform of gun laws.

@DealingWithTrouble I was neither dumb, nor wrong. Sorry you couldn't dismiss me with a contextless factoid and a couple of pithy comments.
Plus you overlook and ignore the following:
Oh looky here Knife crimes are up! Take them next huh?
Plus you overlook and ignore the following:
- Homicide rates actually rose for a few years after the ban, peaking around 2003, before declining again. That suggests the ban alone didn’t immediately reduce overall violent crime.
- A massive increase in police presence—about 20,000 officers added around the early 2000s—coincided with the drop in homicide rates.
- Socioeconomic factors, improved emergency medical care, and community policing strategies also played key roles in reducing crime.
- Knife crime, for instance, has remained a persistent issue, showing that violence can shift forms even when guns are restricted.

@DealingWithTrouble Hey why don't you let me know when you are done "editing" your comment so I can reply to the final form, K?

@markinkansas Good, I don't think gun laws need to be restricted further here anyway.

You're confused about how "rates" work - that's your mistake, not mine.
Do you want to have UK laws and UK murder rates or US laws and US murder rates? It's a pretty obvious choice to me.
Because right now you're happy to kill off 17,000 people a year in the name of your gun fetish.
Or are you going to keep having your childish tantrums and making false claims?
I felt it deserved to be mentioned.
