I buy land and plant avocado trees. I hire workers and agree to pay them $10/hr with a yearly raise. They make the choice wether to accept the job or not.. I make 1 million in profit . I keep my word on the contract They are given $1/hr pay raise. We never agreed on the amount of the pay raise just that there would be one. My profit does not entitle them to anything more than the raise. They could have said no to the job They would have been no worse off than before the job offer

I bought the land, the trees, the tools the fertilizer and salaries. I found buyers
If the business folds, they lose a job but I lose all of money because I took the risk

Equity sounds good but Socialism will never work. If everyone gets the same slice of pie. Who is going to work harder and make more money? I guarantee you that the politicians pushing equity of money have 2 or 3 homes, several vehicles and vacations a year Their children go to private schools. They pay for armed security. . But that’s different It’s THEIR money

When I see them accept a $50 000 a year salary I will entertain the idea But until then. I will harvest what I sow. I will continue to donate and help those who need it. Equal opportunity not equal outcome

And you are being dishonest too. Slavery is not the only form of exploitation and you damn well know what. And most of the fortune 500 uses slave labour through for profit prisons so you are even objectively wrong on the slavery part too.

You just proved my point. Profit literally cannot exist if you pay workers fairly for their labour.

And quit pretending that the lowest wage they can legally offer is some form of saintly deed.


And please stop the bullshit about the owners taking all the risk. Losing a job for the works means potential homelessness and starvation.

The vast majority of businesses are started by people who came from wealth so at best for the owner losing the business is like losing a hobby that makes them money. This is never a case of survival.

Even during the great depression most business owners were not in a position of losing their very survival.



And great jobe proving you have no idea what socialism actually is. Nobody is promising equality of outcomes. And you even used the wrong word. Equity implies everyone starts from the same fair starting point. That is objectively false under capitalism.
