Can Texas vehemently oppose sovereignity claim of the US Government?

Taiwan vehemently opposes China's sovereignty claims when U.S. President Donald Trump said Chinese President Xi Jinping told him he will not invade the island while Trump is in office.

Asked about Trump's remarks at a daily news briefing in Beijing, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said Taiwan is an inalienable part of Chinese territory.

"The Taiwan issue is purely an internal affair of China, and how to resolve the Taiwan issue is a matter for the Chinese people," she said.

Does Trump think he is the king of the world when dealing with China?

Trump is just creating more distraction to take everyone's attention away from his Jeffery Epstein pedophile saga. This whole thing with China is just smoke and mirrors. Pay no attention to Trump and his mindless BS.

@swirlie More attention needs to be paid to trump to have him jailed and have his property confiscated. Am I the only one who sees his actions are treason? Just disassemble what he has done since regaining office and look up the definition of treason..😷

No, you're not the only one who sees his actions are treasonous! Most law makers in the USA agree with you and about half the US population would also agree with you.

But where things have changed for the USA is that acts of treason no longer matter!

It's now okay to be treasonous to your country because one's actions are irrelevant at the end of the day, considering there is no longer any mechanism in place to administer consequences to those committing treason.

Committing acts of treason against the USA as a US Citizen are just part of being American, that's all! It's the American way.

@swirlie In the end I dont suppose it matters. There is a perfect storm of financial Tsunamis, being surfed by Trump, MAGA and the Republicans and about to dump all Americans on the rocks. Agriculture exports are collapsing, Industrial processing in the north is falling apart, with steel, aluminium and copper pricing out of the market and power costs rising , real estate teetering on collapse from Florida, spreading up and west and the Federal reserve caught between a rock and a stupid place on Interest rates and money supply with demand for the $US and bid earners like Boeing and the military aircraft makers coming under pressure from overseas, with trump tariff blowback..At this point it is hard to see America dodging this firing squad..😷

I saw just last evening a video report from Florida showing all beaches vacant and hotels with no cars in the parking lot. This isn't widely advertised but it became part of a broader picture that you now describe about any kind of business taking a hit in the US, mainly because nobody wants anything to do business with the USA.

Only last month, PM Mark Carney suspended copper exports from Canada to the USA and ceased ALL American booze imports to Canada overnight.

The Kentucky distilleries which supplied Canadian liquor shelves, are now bankrupt and have gone out of business. They put all their booze in the Canadian basket and never even diversified in their own American economy. When Canada pulled out of their game, they closed up shop.

@swirlie Yes. The "Snow Bird" migration is another smaller ripple.. As indeed is the removal of American wines and spirits from the Canadian market. Something my country has been only to happy to assist Canada with. Prost!.. Its hard to find a sector of the US market thriving. Even the low Gasoline prices are keeping pressure on the oil companies with their higher drilling costs..😷

Something I caught the tail-end of yesterday was artificial intelligence being used to create a fake investment market in the US stock exchange, which of course shows the US economy doing the opposite of what you've just described here.

The thing is, analysts are quick to point out that nobody actually knows if this market rise is real, or if it's just a fake bubble that was artificially created by AI investment strategy for the benefit of attracting investors to the US economy?

Have you heard anything about this phenomenon of an AI-created fake American economy?
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@swirlie The stock market has not been a reliable tracker of economy since the advent of dat traders. These riverboat gamblers of the market simply bet on the short term rise and fall and add nothing to the market in investment, driving up prices and PE ratios..😷
swirlie · 31-35
@whowasthatmaskedman
Okay, I get that part... but most Americans seem to think the US economy is very good if the stock market behaves very good! I guess that was my point... that with AI creating an artificial rise in the stock market, people are now making investment decisions on those fake numbers, allegedly for the purpose of attracting investment to the US economy from outside the USA.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@swirlie I agree with you. But I dont know enough about AI to see how that can be done beyond flooding the market with fake information..However, trump is clearly corrupting the flow of genuine information. While he may fool the MAGAts with that. Its hard to see how he will fool the professionals..😷
swirlie · 31-35
@whowasthatmaskedman
True, the professionals can see the truth, I'm sure!

AI is exactly that, it is a fake stock that is given inertia using AI technology from past-performing sector stocks which actually exists or existed, but which their data is used artificially to create a fake stock market rally when no money actually changes hands and no Trader commissions are actually paid to anyone.

I don't think Trump cares about confronting China or Russia. His foreign policy is based on personal relationship. He can even deal with Kim Jong Un without the Rand Corporation getting in the way.
