Trump considers reclassifying marijuana as less dangerous drug: report

Trump told attendees at a $1 million-a-plate fundraiser at his New Jersey golf club earlier this month he was interested in making a change to the plant's classification, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing sources familiar with the matter.

This comes after cannabis companies have committed millions of dollars to the president's political groups, according to the report.

The potential move to remove marijuana from the list of Schedule I controlled substances and make it a Schedule III drug would make it significantly easier to buy and sell cannabis and make the industry more profitable.

To bring you people up to speed, these are Schedule I drugs:

Heroin, mescaline, LSD, Marijuana, Cocaine, quaaludes, etc. They are considered by law to have the highest potential for abuse and addiction.

During the last election, (where Trump kicked KKKamala's NAZI ASS in a landslide) Florida had recreational marijuana on the referendum. Our governor (DeSantis) opposed it, but THE DONALD supported it.

Why would President Trump do this? Probably because downgrading pot to schedule III or declassifying it altogether would open up an EXPLODING business opportunity all across the fruited plain.

40 states have legalized medical marijuana. 24 states have legalized recreational marijuana as well.

Here in Florida we have recreational marijuana. Of course, doctors give out scrips to that like it was candy. And medical marijuana companies are held liable for any damage the drug might cause. A person would have to be a total MORON to buy pot from a street vendor.

I know a few places here (one pretty successful seafood restaurant) that switched their farmland from saw palmetto to cannabis. They even call them marijuana fields, but the harvesting process is different from the one that produces THC. And these places are getting rich on cannabinoids, (legal products from cannabis, like CBD.)

Oh, and for those who have a Total Wine dealership in your area, there are entire stacks of THC soda, frankly a joint in a can. And it's legal.

Anyway, PRESIDENT TRUMP is more in the middle than any other president in history.

That's "centrism"?

I tend to agree that MJ shouldn't be a schedule 1 drug, btw, but I also think it should be regulated and that people in the business should be able to use banks.

Wanting to take steps to legalize marijuana nationwide is a FAR LEFT LIBERAL thing to do. Adding on that cutting taxes on the working people, which is very conservative, and you're pretty much in the CENTER, something DemoNazis will never get anywhere near.

Uh, did you read the article? Where does it say people in the marijuana business are not permitted to use banks? Here in Florida, with our medical marijuana trade, there are pot stores all over the place. I'm pretty sure they aren't keeping their money in their mattresses.

Oh, and one of the best parts of legalization is the PRODUCT LIABILITY. Stores that sell this product are liable for any health problems associated with it. That's something one would never get from a street corner pusher.

Actually my favorite part of this concept is the idea of putting those street corner pushers out of business entirely. That's worth everything to make those weasels have to get real jobs. If big business can sell pot cheaper than the pushers, that's the free market making the streets safer.
@Reason10 One of the few refreshing things about Trump is that he's open to picking up other people's ideas and marijuana legalization may be an example of that, assuming he doesn't drop implementing it after saying it has served its purpose for him. Remember infrastructure, a better Obamacare, his friendliness towards LGBT people, etc?

To be fair to Trump, taking it off of Schedule I may help with the banking problems that have plagued the MJ industry in states that have legalized it, this is one of those things that needs follow through, and I doubt that it'll happen on Trump's watch.

@SatyrService he has no positian but to follow where the money leads

Everybody follows where the money leads, not just this genius president.
Everybody wants money. Most Americans want to work for it, and DemoNazis want free stuff from those who earn a living.

Frankly, President Trump has done more positive for the economy than ANY DemoKKKrat president in history.

Trump not revealing the epstein documents was proof enough of how establishment and centrist he is
