I honestly think, that if you'll wait a couple of years, Biden is going to be perceived as a better president then Obama was. Considering his accomplishments, in a hostile enviorment, and he did it all in 4 years. But we'll see over time.

@Kwek00 Biden's foreign politics was overall much better than Obama's. Biden's weakest point however was communication, along with nominating Garland and failing to prevent the current status quo, which is ultimately why I don't think even in the long term he'll be perceived as a good president by the blue voter base.

Obama was a better communicator, and optics is ultimately what wins elections (especially in the States) and what determines who's perceived as a better president, more than policy. So I get why the general sentiment is more in favor of Obama than Biden.
@Kwek00 Good prediction, I think.

@Elessar remember, Obama nominated Garland, too.

My biggest knock on Obama was continuing the status quo with the “war on terror.

Biden I was never completely comfortable with because of his age. For me his biggest flaw was not going after the previous administrations’ crimes hard enough. They had 4 years to send them all to jail and failed.

As for Israel/foreign policy - I don’t expect much here. But I wonder if a “we will help you free your hostages if you agree to pull your settlers from the west bank otherwise pound sand” approach would have worked. But i feel Biden’s hands were tied due to decades of bad foreign policy there.

Not sure what was actually bigger... this... or the fact that all those wallstreet creeps, after creating assets out of thin air that eventually crashed the economy, went free. He literally filled his cabinet with ex-bankers... which in my opinion seriously takes away trust that people have in the system. For an aspiring figure with speeches that are loaded with dreams of an ideal future... that was a bad move. I'm not saying the governement should have let the world economy collapse... but responsibility had to be taken, and the American governement prosecuted no one... that is the task of the executive to at least bring it to the court.

For me his biggest flaw was not going after the previous administrations’ crimes hard enough. They had 4 years to send them all to jail and failed.

Don't forget, that this is a judicial procedure. Biden might be the president in this millenium that let the system do what it was intended to do... he let congress work and he let the judicial branch work. Congress during his periode passed a series of big bills that he executed. The judicial branch, espescially in Florida, didn't do it's job... which is something Trump still praises Aileen Cannon for.

And even for his age, Biden was pretty sharp at most times that he had to be. Just go back to his last state of the union, while those republicans are screeching towards him. He provided them all with an answer. Unlike the current executive, where the speaker of the house started throwing out those that gave criticism.

The biggest problems... for me... is that Biden was weak a the end of his periode. In the last months he crossed the line 3 times... He tried to get student loan forgiveness using emergency powers twice, which is terrible imo. And he pretty much set a new standard, by signing a bunch of pardon deals for his own inner circle.

I think that the democratic party as a whole underestimated the authoritarian opposition... this wasn't a job for Biden, who warned the country in several of his speeches. But the democratic party, should have taken a more hostile stance towards the segment in the republican party that was caught up in MAGA nonsense.

@Kwek00 well, I think part of the current “housing crisis” stems from the buying of foreclosure houses on the cheap back in 2010-2016 by investment groups, who drive up prices and keep people forever renting.
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@trollslayer I've not looked into that... I will tell you, that part of it depends on what state you are living in ... I read through the wikipedia page of the californian housing crisis once... and it's long, it goes way back. And it's complicated, just a lot of different factors all working towards the problem.
