With the 4 p.m. CT deadline having come and gone, Texas Speaker of the House Dustin Burrows announced this afternoon he would sign arrest warrants against any absent Democrat lawmakers if authorized by a vote of the chamber. Shortly thereafter, the House did approve the warrants and Gov. Greg Abbott then swiftly called on the Texas Department of Public Safety to arrest the "delinquent Texas House Democrats."
The Democratic lawmakers ultimately did not return to Texas in time Monday to approve a quorum amid a fight to halt GOP efforts to redraw the state's congressional maps.
The Illinois State Democratic Party put out a press release shortly before the quorum in Texas was requested, indicating that "in a bold and unified response Texas House Democrats have denied a quorum." While several state Democrats appeared at an event in Illinois on Monday, a state that critics argue is heavily gerrymandered itself, other events aimed at fighting against Texas' redistricting efforts were also held in Albany, Boston and Chicago, according to the press release.
Points to understand:
1. This vote in Texas was to redraw the districts for the purpose of sending fewer DemoNazis to Washington. THE PEOPLE of Texas voted for this when they elected the Republican Majority.
2. The Nazi DemoKKKrats who bolted did so to prevent a quorum and prevent the vote from being taken. What they did is against the law and warrants for their ARREST have been taken. And the Governor would have all the authority he needs to KICK THOSE NAZIS OUT.
3. Those NAZIS (notice I'm not painting all DEmoKKKrats with the Nazi label) have fled to a state that is even MORE gerrymandered than what they were fleeing.
4. I understand why those NAZIS did this. They have LOST THE ARGUMENT. The people of Texas don't want DemoNazis in power any more. And that RACIST HO BITCH Jasmine KKKrockett would lose her seat. Anyone who voted for that HO should be deported anyway.

I'm glad. Democrats are saving democracy by fleeing. Repubs want to carve out repub strongholds so a minority of old white men who are on their way out the door can hold onto power a little longer.

@Reason10 Old white men days of ruling are done. The reason Republicans are doing this is because views have changed from 1950s and they want so badly to go back to times out of ideals that they "think" existed. It's their way of holding onto old ideals. By deporting en masse they're hoping only old white Republican men and their 16 year old sex workers exist.
They have the majority now but the more views change, the less you have to hold onto over time. That's why you do what you do.
@Reason10 I specify old white men for a reason, nothing to do with the younger whites. Your time is done ✔ after your last stand with Trump, we're going to be more diverse and humane society. This is your last stand so I totally get it but we will change for the better whether you like it or not. Trump is doing these things as it's your lot's last stand before new generations take over and I'm so so so happy to see it
