Folie à deux is French (lit. The folly of two) and is a recognized psychiatric syndrome in which a delusional system is shared between two individuals. While well recognized in the field of psychiatry, folie à deux is NOT included in the DSM 5.
Pete, you probably have no idea what a delusion is since you spend every spare moment in the bottom of a bottle so I’ll tell you the definition: a delusion is a fixed, false belief and is unshakable even when confronted with irrefutable evidence. Recognize yourself here, Pete—of course you don’t—because you are delusional!
Now, Pete, let’s get into your personal LONG history of alcohol abuse and why it disqualifies you for your present position and your shockingly poor job performance!
You suffer from Korsakoff syndrome. KS, for short, is caused by a deficiency of the vitamin (B1) thiamine in the brain. Your public behavior and well established long personal history of alcohol abuse draws attention to your symptoms of KS [actually KS is only part of your disqualifying psychiatric condition—more on that in a moment]. Your symptoms which you are careless enough to display on a daily basis in public (and on camera) have established a solid record of your incompetence. Those symptoms include: amnesia (both antegrade & retrograde, confabulation, amnesia of fixation, your inability to bring relevant facts into conversations (hence your persistent avoiding of answering questions directed at your actions & decisions), your lack of insight & critical thinking skills—both of which are essential for the office you were inappropriately selected to hold, and your apathy regarding the horrible and absolutely unacceptable job you are doing and the danger your unacceptable performance is placing our troops and our country in virtually every single day!
Along with KS, you are exhibiting what are likely early signs of Wernicke encephalopathy. WE, for short, is also caused by thiamine deficiency and frequently co-exists with KS. This combination is abbreviated as WKS. Wernicke encephalopathy Is a very serious condition associated with a high death rate.
Simply put, Pete, you need to resign and seek the proper medical and psychiatric care. As a “veteran” you could get at least some of this care at the VA. I am certain that your rating would be 100%, but I am not an expert at VA ratings (which your buddy Collins now has royally screwed up by the way) and since your prolonged alcohol abuse may not be judged “service connected” you shouldn’t count on being eligible…
