Does America need an Iron Dome also?

Since when have we, the greatest superpower the world has ever known, acquired a persecution complex? The Trump military defense initiative, the Golden Dome, for shooting down a nuclear first strike on the US mainland, is projected to cost taxpayers $175 billion. The Pentagon has been tasked to develop and complete the project, even if it is half-assed, within three years before Trump leaves office in January 2029. It is going to be another feather in Trump's cap regardless of its relevance to Americans' welfare and well-being.

I heard one Israeli opinion that the Iron Dome is a bad idea. If Mexico was firing rockets at San Diego, the US would go in and destroy whoever was firing them, not put up a missile defense system. The argument was that Israel should have done that instead of figuring out a way that allowed people to fire missiles without doing any damage.

And no, a similar missile defense system for the US was idiotic when Reagan proposed "Star Wars," and it's still idiotic with Trump's "Golden Dome." But if you know which contractor will get the job, I recommend buying stock in them as soon as possible. You know that's what Trump plans to do.

He plans to see Golden Dome operational before the day he steps down from office. He will hand us the tab for $175 billion for the promise made and a promise kept. Golden Dome's warranty will be provided by Pentagon's defense contractors who provided expertise for Tel Avi's Iron Dome that recently cracked under Iran's missile barrage.
