People always say it's "too soon for politics" after a tragedy

And then go on a political rant themselves. Often saying that is just an attempt to make it seem like you're not expressing a political opinion when you clearly are.

"This is not political! Unlike those evil [insert politician/party you hate] want it to be!"

Yeah, that's not political at all 🤔

That statement is almost always disingenuous and is usually a tactic to avoid talking about issues that the party in question don't want to talk about. It is frequently heard after school shootings.

Another good one is having to explain to America that theirs is not the only country that holds regular elections... even when you place it in a group that states that it is not US politics.
