NASA to Trump: increase our budget, or commies will rule the solar system!

Photo above –Sandra Bullock evades space debris in her undies, at the behest of Warner Brothers for the 2013 science fiction thriller “Gravity”. And because part of the funding for this blockbuster came from the Chinese government, Sandra was rescued by the Chinese Army in the final scene.

Wow . . . back to the future. It’s 1954 all over again. When Senator Joe McCarthy transfixed the nation with his hearings into communist plots. And here we are – 2025 – and now NASA is warning us about the dangers of space communism. (see link below).

At first I thought this warning was going to be another overview of China’s (and Russia’s) weaponized satellites. But it’s actually much worse. NASA is concerned because America doesn’t have enough robots on Mars and the moon. China is eating our freeze-dried astronaut lunch.

How much will it cost to keep the commies from claiming the moon, mars, Jupiter, venus and the sun? NASA doesn’t say. They just warn they don’t have enough money to ensure space is controlled by the free world.

Actually, I don’t think ANY amount of spending by NASA will stop China from launching lunar probes, mars robots, and orbital observatories to keep an eye on the sun. This isn’t like Reagan’s cold war era WWE showdown with the USSR, where Mikhail Gorbachev threw in the towel because America kept churning out more jets and ICBMs. If anything could have persuaded China to reconsider their space exploration, Musk’s Starlink satellites should have done the trick. 15,000 approved internet satellites, and paperwork being filed for 30,000 more. Enough so that the whole world can tune in to GROK's message of antisemitic totalitarianism. After all these things are in orbit China will need a quantum supercomputer just to calculate how to get past this swarm of space chiclets to reach Mars.

As of today, there are 500,000 pieces of space debris (not a misprint – a half million) in orbit. And like 7,000 operational satellites. The garbage in orbit includes dead satellites, spent booster rockets, nuts and bolts. Shards of broken solar panels. This is why the ISS (international space station) is always leaking. It keeps getting hit by this stuff. The astronauts keep a patch kit similar to Flex Seal within reach at all times. The ISS is leaking right now, from a hole they can’t even find, in the Russian built PrK module. So nobody’s allowed to hang out in that section, until they find out where the hole is. They’ve been looking for it since 2019.

Earth to NASA . . .the USA doesn't even control the North American continent, let alone planet earth. I'm not that concerned that China is going to put the entire solar system under a communist regime anytime soon. Remember, this is the country which couldn't even get it's spy module to impersonate a weather balloon a couple of years ago.

I'm just sayin' . . .

I tend to agree that what ever X $ value they are looking for would be better spent on where current people living right here on earth live. Start with fixing the broken things that really matter to the people decent education, healthcare, homes, the infrastructure in the country that affect people's daily lives, deal with the crime etc the list is not exhaustive either.
Maybe we should put the squabbling world leaders together some place and make them learn to get along and come up with a plan that is workable to try and keep the only viable place for us as humans to live as a viable place to live.

@Avectoijesuismoi when you ask NASA to pivot to "real stuff", they counter by pointing out that velcro, memory foam mattresses, and freeze dried foods are famous NASA inventions.

I'm not dissing freeze dried food. but if it was a great invention, there would be an entire aisle of this stuff at the supermarket.

Money is better spent on USA 🇺🇸
Bill Swift should be one the ISS to apply Flex Seal personally to be sure it’s done properly.
Undies? I thought that is exercise gear.
