Are you an Obamacare opponent? Great news!

Benefit limits are coming back. That means, if you reach your maximum in the middle of your chemo, too bad so sad, you're done.

More good news! If you lose your job and lose your group insurance policy, you'll be denied coverage if you've ever had a pre-existing condition. Thanks GOP!

Obamacare did nothing but make me have to pay out my ass for my insurance.. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't glad to see it go.
@Pinkrainbowkisses: As I just mentioned, had the GOP not killed risk corridors and crippled coops to force premiums up so people would blame Obamacare, we never would be where we are now. Let's be perfectly frank here, the ACA is not perfect, but to repeal out of spite is such a dick move. BOTH parties working TOGETHER can improve ACA.

@pinkrainbowkisses: why would Obamacare make you pay out of your ass for your insurance? Did you have your own private insurance prior to Obamacare?
@Northwest: They've been conned into thinking Obamacare is the worst thing ever. They don't realize that a repeal means an immediate, HUGE tax cut for the rich.
It's made my premiums double each month.. co-pays doubled.. and they pay LESS on medical bills.

@pinkrainbowkisses: That does not answer my question. Prior to the ACA, you could have insurance, either through your employer, or private insurance. Which one did you have?

Many of my friends and family members had to give up their insurance because of the ACA because it was so expensive. No one ever mentions all the people who had to give up their ins because of the ACA. And you can't blame the GOP at all, this was all democrats.

@RootinTootinHighFalutin: Yes, this is like when Trump said that most of his employees, hate the ACA. My comment was: huh? This means that 1) you are such a sleaze, and you're not providing insurance for your employees, or 2) you're full of it, and you're lying your teeth off.

It turned out to be #2.

@zerofuks2give: I don't understand. Why did they have to give up their insurance? How does the ACA force an individual to give up their private or company insurance?
@Northwest: Through my employer.
@zerofuks2give: GOP spent years lying to voters about Obamacare (while sabotaging parts that held down premiums.) Obamacare created risk corridors for the insurance companies. Do a little research on the topic. With risk corridors, insurers could be certain that a mispricing in premiums wouldn't cripple them. The GOP lied and called the risk corridors an insurer bailout. So they killed them, knowing that the consequence was increased risk for insurers.
@pinkrainbowkisses: I pray you never have a catastrophic illness and lose your job. You're shit out of luck now.
@RootinTootinHighFalutin: It really can't get any worse.
Northwest · M
@pinkrainbowkisses: Then I don't understand what you're complaining about. You don't have ACA, and the premiums set by your employer, are negotiated directly between your employer and the insurance provider.
@pinkrainbowkisses: Bless your heart. It can, and it will.
zerofuks2give · 41-45, M
@Northwest: because they couldn't afford it. When you're only making 40k a year you can't afford 12k for ins premiums.
Northwest · M
@zerofuks2give: This is not what I'm asking. What did they have prior to Obamacare?
@zerofuks2give: Don't blame Obama for the increase in premiums. The GOP intentionally increased the risk of the market and premiums went up. By lying, they convinced people that Obamacare was to blame. Educate yourself.
@Northwest: It is under ACA.. says right on there. I'll screenshot my insurance when I get done with dinner.
Northwest · M
@RootinTootinHighFalutin: Yes. They've got everyone convinced that their premiums went up, because of the ACA, which is not true.
@Northwest: I'm at a loss for words when I hear people blame Obamacare.
zerofuks2give · 41-45, M
@Northwest: they had fuckin insurance that's what they had. Now they have a fine to pay every year. And the GOP had nothing to do with the ACA, nothing! Democrats wrote it and voted it into law. The GOP wasn't even allowed to be in the discussion.
@zerofuks2give: People screaming for years about Obamacare never bothered to figure out what it actually does. And now willful ignorance hurts millions.
Northwest · M
@zerofuks2give: If they had fuckin insurance, why couldn't they continue with it?

The ACA provided some new options, for those who could not get it prior to the ACA. Also, when it was passed, the House was in GOP hands. The GOP was indeed allowed into the conversation, this is why we don't have a single payer option, because the President was too timid to do the same thing the GOP is doing today. He wanted to be inclusive.

@pinkrainbowkisses: Weird, because your employer could have kept the insurance you had prior to the ACA. As far as I know, your employer does not provide ACA for you. The only thing they're obligated to do, is notify you, in writing, that if you don't want the company insurance, you can get your own, through the ACA.

I still don't see what the issue is.

@RootinTootinHighFalutin: what it does is give people insurance that can't afford to pay for, so who do you think pays for it????? If you and a few friends go out to eat and a dozen more people show up and order food with no money to pay for it guys who's paying the bill? You and your friends. Its basic math.
