GIVE LEFTISTS JUST A LITTLE TIME AND THEY WILL TELL US EXACTLY WHO THEY REALLY ARE

Leftists rarely let an opportunity to expose who they really are go to waste. The horrific flood in the Texas hill country this weekend that claimed the lives of dozens is no exception. You would think they would have enough candor to keep their inside thoughts inside. But their lack of self-awareness and self-control get the best of them. They do not limit their thirst for blood to only the helpless unborn, but for any who disagree with them or anyone they even perceive may not think as they do. Even the deaths of small children seem to give them cause to be jubilant. I'll let just a few of them speak for themselves.

There are those many of us foreigners well outside the nation's febrile domestic politics, reading, hearing or viewing the reports of this terrible disaster, and our thoughts are with those bereaved or who have lost homes, farms, livelihoods etc., to the floods.

Yet what does the USA show us now? That although there may be serious administrative questions to be considered later at national level in sober, proper ways, even disasters like this flood can be used to excuse heartless, shallow party-political slanging matches that are neither analytical nor civil.

For God's sake, we wonder from safely beyond either of two oceans, WHY?

@ArishMell It also shows that the OP has no real interest in the victims unless he can score political points. But I'm also playing his game.

@iamthe99 Well, that's up to you but isn't it better not to do so? The OP did though expose a whole swathe of unpleasantness by others.

@ArishMell I completely agree. What you are probably not seeing is how Americans instantly rise to the occasion. I've seen it in Texas many times. People come from all over with whatever supplies tools and equipment they can. Before the waters have even begun to recede neighbors, churches and friends begin working together to rescue survivors, set up supply outlets and bring in all manner of manpower and resources. Government aid, although it is helpful, is a very small portion of the actual relief effort. Organizations like Convoy of Hope and Samaritan's Purse, just to name two find their way to get on the scene within hours of a crisis. We experienced this first hand in 2017 when Hurricane Harvey hit our area. We worked with our local church to first rescue people from flooded areas and get them to safety. We then shifted into food supply operations where hundreds came to pick up donations we were receiving from all over the country. We had teams of people show up from hundreds of miles away to help do whatever they could do. Then months of relief efforts like working with Samaritan's purse to "mud out" victim's homes to get them ready to be repaired. For several months after the storm we were working with our church giving away sheetrock, insulation, flooring, appliances and all sorts of needed household goods. This is just a short summary of what we have seen and participated in first hand after a major disaster. Americans are not as divided as we may seem. There is just a small percentage of people who sit back and take advantage of a situation for political gain. They simply show their true colors.

@LLcoolK No, I am not seeing it but I do know from the reports on the News here that everyone is rallying round to help as they can - searching, cleaning, repairing, donating - and it is of course very heartening to know that.

The divided ones, and those doing the dividing, no doubt are a minority but they make sure they grab the attention.

@ArishMell It's unfortunate but true. It is how they try to gain attention and power.

@LLcoolK The sad thing is that they deflect attention from both the victims and all those working hard on the rescue and relief efforts.

@ArishMell It doesn't stop the people who are getting it done. The people just put their head down and work. Those who have never been in that situation or responded to help those in that situation are often the ones who take political pot shots during a time like this. Many of them are facing consequences which is a good thing. They are being exposed and their actions are not being tolerated. They don't like the accountability.
