Can you define in your own words what kidnapping means ?
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@AthrillatheHunt I always go by the dictionary. I would put it in my own words but why when it's what I mean.

@SatanBurger so you think federal law amounts to kidnapping ? That’s a take I haven’t heard before. When they took that Columbia U kid away I was shocked but I didn’t consider it kidnapping .
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@AthrillatheHunt Yes, there's a thing called federally sanctioned kidnapping. I mean if the feds murder people, is it murder?
There's multiple things to this. First off, most of the people deported haven't been back to their home countries for more than 20 years. Some since 7, some since they were a baby. The us is the only home they've known, what do you call it when agents kidnap you from your home to go place you in other countries you've been to once in your life from your real home which is the us? Technically kidnapping and placing citizens in unknown countries classifies as this.
Particularly if these people just have minor traffic violations or they are getting kidnapped from court houses on their routine green card checks. This sounds like kidnapping of every day working class immigrants to me.
Secondly, ice agents aren't identifying themselves any more so you don't know who they are when they pull up in unmarked vehicles. There's a video of this happening when a young woman was dropped off to work and an agent with no lettering, only a vest, literally scoops her up in his arms and drags her away from her workplace. He was indeed ice it turned out but we have no real way of knowing that.
What do you call the deportations? Most of the citizens were non violent and may have had offenses in the way past but not now.
This to me, equates to kidnapping and false imprisonment. What Trump is doing is taking the law and making it very loose in order to deport anyone but it's still technically kidnapping.

@SatanBurger I’m against state sponsored death penalty . We can disagree on what constitutes kidnapping. And Orange is def playing it fast and loose . Thank God for checks and balances .(didn’t BarryO kidnap 3 million then? According to your definition )
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@AthrillatheHunt Legally it’s called deportation, but morally it resembles kidnapping. If you’re forcibly taken from the only home you know, without identifying who is taking you, and removed to a foreign country, that is kidnapping in every sense except legal technicalities.
Obama’s deportations were high, but Trump’s approach is to expand deportation to nearly anyone without consideration of ties or length of time here, and ICE tactics now include unmarked vehicles and no identification. He even wants to extend this to naturalized citizens, people who may not even speak Spanish because they grew up in the US. This is basically kidnapping.
That erases any sense of due process or humane enforcement. Legality doesn’t erase the moral reality of forcibly abducting people from their lives.
....
I want to say that even if I like Obama's politics on other subjects, deportations are wrong strictly because we have a long list of things that need to be fixed but aren't. We are focusing on the wrong thing. It takes thousands of dollars to come here and people spend decades waiting to get into the US. If this isn't fixed then doing this to people is evil as we're not fixing things.
I do like Obama, I disagree with deporting people, not because I want to invite everyone in but because there's other solutions that we could do. But we're not focused on that. I'm focused by real world problem solving.
It's still kidnapping regardless of any president but under Trump, it's a bit more extreme as he's not considering a person's overall record, background or experience.

@Elisbch Thank you 😊

@SatanBurger I stopped reading after your first sentence supported my claim . Obama was referred to as “deporter in chief “ not “kidnapper in chief “. Same acts committed by different man . One man gets a pass , the other gets crucified.
Do you not see that ? Or were you calling Obama a kidnapper too ?

@SatanBurger I never put words in your mouth. I only ask questions .
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@AthrillatheHunt You just said one gets a pass while the other one doesn't. That's putting words in my mouth. You also admitted to not reading anything I responded and asked a question after you admitted to not reading anything. Had you read it, you would have answered your own question.
You can't ask questions if you don't read either.
Why you even bothering? You're not going to read, don't ask.

@SatanBurger I didn’t mean from you. I meant in general. BarryO deports 3 mill and not a peep (again not talking about you ). Orange deports a few thousand and he’s evil for doing it ?

@AthrillatheHunt My posts are tailored to my opinions only, I have no control over other people's opinions nor if they cared about what Obama has done or not. The original post was about deportations and my reference to kidnappings.
